Patricia Romero
Patricia is originally from Venezuela but currently resides in Baja California. Patricia is an Iyengar yoga teacher and an Anat Baniel Method teacher
and practitioner. She uses movement to access the brain and it’s incredible capacity to change and form new connections in order to facilitate learning and bring about improvement in the way people move, think and feel.
During our retreats and workshops, she teaches about the Nine Essentials to improve mind and body.
The Nine Essentials form the core of the NeuroMovement approach of the Anat Baniel Method. Each of the Nine Essentials describes one of the brain’s requirements for waking up and doing its job well. That is, each Essential helps the brain create new connections and avoid rigidity and automaticity when needing to overcome pain and limitation to thus reach new levels of physical and cognitive performance.
By accessing the amazing power of the brain to change itself, the method helps people discover how to improve the mind and body dramatically enhancing physical, cognitive, emotional, and creataive performance. This unique method evolved from Anat’s background and the work of Dr. Moshé Feldenkrais.
Through innovative movement exercises and the Nine Essentials, you can create new neural patterns that increase strength, flexibility, and vitality. Whether you are in good health or have a limiting diagnosis, this method gives you tools to make the impossible possible and to live life more fully, with greater joy and success.
Dr. Federico Martinez
Dr. Martinez studied medicine at UNAM (Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico); the largest university in Mexico and graduated in 1979 with a specialization in ophthalmology. From 1980 to 1981 he did a dermatology research fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco—School of Medicine. In 1994 he completed a Stage in ophthalmology at the Pitie Salpetri hospital which is part of the Universite Pierre et Marie Curie in France.
His passion nowadays has nothing to do with ophthalmology though, for the past 15 years, Dr. Martinez has been practicing orthomolecular medicine. This medical approach draws from knowledge about modern biochemistry and physiology, which includes knowledge about the role of vitamins, trace elements, minerals, amino acids and essential fatty-acids and other essential nutrients and co-enzymes in our metabolic system.
Orthomolecular medicine, as conceptualized by double-Nobel laureate Linus Pauling, aims to restore the optimum environment of the body by correcting imbalances or deficiencies based on individual biochemistry, using substances natural to the body such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids, trace elements and fatty acids. The term "orthomolecular" was first used by Linus Pauling in a paper he wrote in the journal Science in 1968. The key idea in orthomolecular medicine is that genetic factors affect not only the physical characteristics of individuals, but also to their biochemical milieu. Biochemical pathways of the body have significant genetic variability and diseases such as atherosclerosis, cancer, schizophrenia or depression are associated with specific biochemical abnormalities which are causal or contributing factors of the illness.
In short, orthomolecular medicine works to restore systematic homeostasis and holistic well-being. Since 2007, Dr. Federico has been running the Institute for Neuro-Cellular Regeneration in Rosarito, Baja California. Neuro-Cellular Regeneration (NCR) is the process of restoring the nervous system to a higher state of functionality and youthful vitality through the use of a proprietary NCR formula that includes NAD and other important coenzymes.
NCR cleanses, opens and resets the neuro-transmitter receptor sites where the dopamine and pleasure receptors create your natural sense of well-being and treats every cell of your body in order to create energy so you can move, breathe, pump blood, digest food, think, and generally, live your life, as well as aiding the repair of DNA.

Jennifer Grieco
Jennifer is a Wellness Coach, Reiki Practitioner, Certified Yoga Instructor, and a Licensed Midwife Health Care Practitioner. She's a proponent of heart-centered yoga, conscious living and alternative women’s health care specializing in supporting women through the various stages of their life's journey.
Jennifer works closely with women and their families by nourishing their minds, bodies and spirits, during the most significant moments of their lives. She helps them process emotional trauma with energy work, meditation and healing conversations, and facilitated the release of physical trauma and muscular constriction through the practice of yoga.
Jennifer began to see the effects of tuning into your body, honoring and nourishing your soul and truly paying attention to the gentle whispers that we so often ignore. She witnessed profound empowerment in the families that she worked with, and considers each of them her teachers and inspiration. She dove further into her yoga practice and the journey continued, experiencing and implementing the triad -- mind, body, light (spirit) connection -- created a sense within her that she had finally arrived. She is ready to share and cultivate the capacity to love in everyone that she meets.
Jennifer teaches heart-centered Hatha yoga to open the heart through asanas, pranayama, meditation, and profound music selections. Yoga has enhanced her experience of life, changing her perspective on many things by enabling her to embrace a larger, more authentic conception of who she is and her part in the collective and this Universe.
What Jennifer has discovered is that every, single moment, it ALL comes down to love. As a result of these discoveries, it is her hope to introduce you to this awareness through breath, movement and meditation.
Jennifer also happens to be a nurse, a mother of three and is currently preparing to go back to school and get a Masters degree in Psychology.
Anny Ortiz
Anny has a B.A. in Psychology from Arizona State University where she had the opportunity to volunteer at The Mind/Body health lab as a research assistant investigating the effects of beliefs on symptoms perceptions, physiological markers, and health behaviors, and thrived learning about the biological bases of behavior through neuropsychology classes.
She was also the teaching assistant of an undergraduate psychology course that eventually evolved into an online class and what is now the University-Community Partnership for Social Action Research Network (UCP-SARnet) and the Global Network for Sustainable Development.
Over the past 13 years, Anny has worked at a variety of therapeutic programs including residential treatment centers, wilderness therapy programs and therapeutic boarding schools in Mexico, United States and Costa Rica.
Specialty retreat programs, such as the Intensive Trauma Workshop or the Addiction Interruption treatment bring in extra support, having guest facilitators and psychotherapists trained in specific trauma modalities, such as somatic experiencing, EMDR and brainspotting as well as an alcohol and drug addiction counseling practice to assist and create a comprehensive treatment plan for each participant. On this page, you may find information about our practitioners. We invite you to take a look and feel free to reach out to any of us through our contact page.
Indigo Awakenings brings together an interdisciplinary team of professionals that integrate their training and services to co-create the ultimate mind/body restoration program and holistic wellness experience.
In 2012 Anny started volunteering with a non-profit organization that coordinates and facilitates dolphin-assisted therapy retreats for a variety of populations, i.e. cancer, chronic pain and special needs children called “Living from the Heart, the Dolphin Experience”. It brings great joy to her life to be able to contribute towards the integral healing of all the individuals that venture out to explore this magnificent alternative medicine therapy.
From 2013 to 2015, she collaborated with a state-of-the-art ibogaine clinic in Baja California, where she facilitated a weekly program that integrated psycho-educational materials, cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness principles, relaxation techniques such as biofeedback, experiential therapy approaches that included art therapy and recreational therapy, as well as relapse prevention and goal planning.
Anny's work is informed by the wealth of scientific literature that has been amassed by the Institute of Heartmath over the past 20 years. It is one of her passions in life to teach people about the role of the heart in setting our emotions, and how our heart affects our brain's ability to perceive reality in a different light. Anny is an avid reader of neuropsychologist Rick Hanson's work and loves sharing his knowledge with all whom she meets.
